Why this move is different
Most people relocate once every few years. Travel nurses do it several times a year, usually with less notice, often into housing that is not confirmed until close to the start date.
That combination breaks the normal booking pattern. There is rarely three weeks of lead time, the delivery address may change, and the start date is fixed by a contract rather than chosen.
Book against the start date, not the housing date. Housing frequently firms up last. We can schedule from your contract start and adjust the delivery address later, which is far easier than rebuilding the whole booking.
Short notice bookings
Assignments sometimes come together in days. Short notice is workable, and it is worth understanding what actually determines whether it happens.
It is not urgency, it is geography. If a carrier is already running your corridor this week, a fast collection is straightforward. If nobody is, no amount of premium creates a truck. Ask us and we will check where the trucks actually are rather than guessing.
Delivery when housing is uncertain
- Corporate or temporary housing — usually fine, though complexes vary on commercial vehicle access
- Extended stay hotels — generally straightforward, with a large lot and no gate
- Near the facility — hospital parking areas are often the easiest access point in a new city
- A colleague's address — works if they are over 18 and named in advance
Whatever you choose, someone over 18 must be present to inspect and sign. A vehicle cannot be left unattended, and that is the single most common cause of a failed delivery on short-notice moves.
Repeat moves
If you contract regularly, your details stay on file: vehicle, home base, preferences, and how you like access handled. The second booking becomes a message rather than a form.

Practical points
- Keep your insurance active. Do not pause your policy because the car is on a truck.
- Empty the vehicle. Personal items are not covered by cargo insurance, whatever is in the trunk.
- Photograph it before collection. Two minutes, in daylight, every panel.
- Confirm who receives it if you fly ahead, and name them in advance.

What if my contract dates shift?
Tell us as early as you can. Nothing is charged until a carrier is assigned, so a change before dispatch costs nothing.
