About Auto King Transport
Auto transport is a trust business before it is a price business. Most of what goes wrong in this industry happens for the same handful of reasons, and we built the way we work around avoiding them.
Why we work the way we do
Anyone who has shipped a vehicle badly knows the pattern. A price that looked great, then went quiet. A deposit taken before a truck existed. A coordinator who changed twice, so the details were explained three times. A delivery date that moved without anyone calling to say so.
None of that is inevitable. It happens because some brokers take money first and look for a truck afterwards, which means the customer carries the risk of a price that was never dispatchable.
We reversed that order. A carrier is found first, then payment is taken. It is a simple change and it removes most of the ways this goes wrong.
What we actually do
We are a licensed auto transport broker. That means we do not own the trucks. We hold the relationships, verify the carriers, negotiate the rate, and stay responsible for your shipment from quote to delivery.
Brokers get a mixed reputation, mostly deserved by the ones who treat carrier selection as a formality. It should not be. On every dispatch we check operating authority, the cargo insurance certificate, and the FMCSA safety record. A cheap carrier with a poor record does not get your vehicle, however good it makes our margin look.
You can verify us in under a minute. Our USDOT and MC numbers are published on this site and searchable on the FMCSA SAFER system. Any transport company that will not give you those numbers is telling you something.
The four things we refuse to do
- We do not take a deposit before your carrier is assigned. Money moves after a truck is confirmed and you have the driver's details, not before.
- We do not quote a price we cannot dispatch. A low number that sits unassigned for two weeks is a delay dressed up as a discount.
- We do not hand you between departments. One coordinator handles your shipment start to finish.
- We do not use unverified carriers. Authority, insurance and safety record are checked on every single dispatch.
Where we operate
All fifty states, including Alaska and Hawaii through port coordination. Open and enclosed, door to door, single vehicles through to full dealer loads.
We handle household relocations, students heading to campus, military PCS moves, snowbird runs, collector cars, dealer trade swaps, auction collections and corporate relocation programmes. Different customers, same process.
How to judge any transport company
Including this one. Ask four questions before you book anywhere.
- What is your USDOT and MC number? Then look it up on the FMCSA SAFER system yourself. It takes a minute and it is free.
- When do you take payment? Anyone collecting before a carrier is assigned is asking you to carry their risk.
- Can I see the carrier's insurance certificate? A straight answer here separates the serious operators from the rest.
- Is this quote dispatchable today? The honest answer is sometimes no, and a company willing to say that is worth more than one that is not.
If the answers are vague, keep calling. There are plenty of good operators in this industry and no reason to settle for one that will not answer plainly.
