Luxury & exotic
Luxury And Exotic Car Transport
Supercars, limited-run models and six-figure luxury vehicles are not moved the same way as a rental fleet. Different trailers, different drivers, and a different level of documentation.
- Enclosed only
- Lift-gate loading
- Experienced specialist drivers
- Documented condition
Why exotics need a different process
The problems with moving a supercar are mostly geometric. A carbon splitter sitting three inches off the ground will not survive a standard ramp angle. A long front overhang catches on the transition plate before the wheels are even on the deck. Wide bodywork can foul the trailer's internal posts. None of this shows up on a quote form.
Then there is the human side. A driver who has never loaded a mid-engined car does not know that the nose lift takes six seconds to raise, or that the parking brake on certain models releases under load. Experience here is not a luxury, it is the difference between a clean delivery and an expensive conversation.
We match these vehicles to drivers who move them regularly, and we confirm the equipment before we confirm the price.
What specialist handling looks like
Every one of these exists because something went wrong on someone else's truck first.
-
01
Clearance checked first
We ask for the real figure, including splitters and skirts, before assigning equipment rather than after the truck arrives.
-
02
Lift-gate loading
The car is raised level instead of driven up an incline. No ramp angle, no scraping, no held breath.
-
03
Soft straps only
Tyre straps rather than chassis chains, so nothing touches suspension arms or aerodynamic components.
-
04
Drivers who know these cars
Operators experienced with nose lifts, launch modes, transport modes and low-speed clutch behaviour.
-
05
Photographic record
Detailed condition photos at pickup and delivery, attached to the Bill of Lading rather than kept informally.
-
06
Higher declared value cover
Cargo limits matched to the vehicle. We confirm the figure in writing before dispatch.
From enquiry to delivery
Slower at the start, deliberately, because that is where these shipments go wrong.
-
1
Vehicle profile
Model, clearance, modifications, declared value and any handling quirks the driver needs to know about.
-
2
Equipment matched
We source a trailer with the right gate, deck height and internal width, not simply the nearest enclosed truck.
-
3
Documented loading
Photographed condition, level lift, soft straps, and a walkthrough with whoever releases the vehicle.
-
4
Controlled delivery
Unloaded with the same care, inspected against the pickup photos, and signed off only when you are satisfied.
Collections, dealers and private buyers
Much of this work is not a simple house-to-house move. Vehicles come from auction houses with fixed release windows, from dealerships that need a delivery photograph for the customer, and from private collections where several cars move at once between storage and events.
Multi-car collection moves are worth planning as a single job rather than several bookings. One trailer, one driver, one schedule, and usually a better rate per vehicle than moving them piecemeal.
If a car is heading to a show, tell us the date it must be there, not the date you would like it collected. We will work backwards and build in a buffer, because a supercar that arrives the morning after judging is worth the same as one that never left.
Shipping to a show or auction?
Give us the date it must be on site rather than a pickup date. We will schedule backwards and hold a buffer against weather and traffic.
Check my routeWhat affects the price
Exotic transport pricing is driven by equipment and scarcity more than by mileage alone.
- 1
Equipment requiredLift-gate trailers command a premium because there are fewer of them and they cost more to operate.
- 2
Declared valueHigher value requires higher cargo cover, which is a genuine cost rather than a surcharge.
- 3
Vehicle dimensionsWide-body and long-wheelbase cars can occupy more than a single slot on the deck.
- 4
Event calendarAuction weeks and concours season pull specialist trailers toward particular cities and tighten supply.
- 5
Timing pressureA hard deadline costs more than a flexible window, because it removes the carrier's ability to build an efficient load.
We quote what we intend to dispatch. If a price for a lift-gate enclosed move looks close to an open rate, the equipment being sent is probably not what was described.
Exotic and luxury transport questions
Do you ever move exotics on open trailers?
We do not recommend it and will say so plainly. Road debris, weather and public visibility are all real risks on a high-value car, and the saving rarely justifies them.
How low is too low for standard ramps?
Below roughly four inches of true clearance we insist on a lift gate. Splitters, skirts and long overhangs reduce the effective figure well below what a spec sheet suggests.
Can the driver operate the nose lift and transport mode?
Yes, but tell us the model in advance so we assign someone familiar with it. Include anything unusual about the parking brake, ignition sequence or ride-height controls.
How much insurance covers my car in transit?
It depends on the assigned carrier's cargo policy. We confirm the specific limit in writing before dispatch, and we will not send a truck whose cover is below your declared value.
Can you move several cars from one collection?
Yes, and it is usually cheaper per vehicle than separate bookings. One trailer, one driver and one schedule also means far less coordination on your side.
What if the car does not run?
That is fine as long as it rolls, steers and brakes. Tell us at quote stage so we assign a winch-equipped trailer rather than discovering it on collection day.
Move it properly
Tell us the model, the clearance and the deadline. We will confirm the equipment before we quote you a number.
