- Distance—
- Transit time—
- Transport type—
- Per mile—
This is an estimate based on route distance and vehicle type. Your firm price depends on current carrier availability, your dates and the exact vehicle.
How this estimate is worked out
The calculator maps both ZIP codes to a geographic point, measures the distance between them, applies a road-detour factor because roads are not straight lines, then prices that distance against typical per-mile rates for the vehicle type you selected.
It is deliberately transparent about being an estimate. Real auto transport pricing also depends on how many carriers are running your lane this week, how flexible your dates are, and whether the vehicle is where a truck can easily reach it.
Why your real quote may differ
- Carrier availability — a busy corridor prices lower than a quiet one, and that changes week to week
- Date flexibility — a three-day pickup window almost always beats a fixed single date
- Exact location — a rural collection well off the interstate costs more than a suburb beside it
- Running condition — a non-runner needs a winch-equipped carrier, which narrows the pool
- Season — snowbird months and the summer relocation peak tighten capacity nationally
How to use the estimate sensibly
Treat it as a budgeting figure rather than a promise. If your real quote comes back within a couple of hundred dollars of the estimate, that is normal and expected.
If a quote from anyone comes back dramatically below the estimate, be careful. That is the classic pattern of a price designed to win a booking rather than to move a car, and it usually resolves itself as a price increase once your dates are tight.
A quick sanity check. Get three quotes. Ignore the highest and be suspicious of the lowest. The middle one is usually the honest price for your route.

An estimate is a planning tool. A real quote accounts for today's carrier availability on your exact route.
