Corporate relocation

Corporate Relocation Vehicle Shipping

Relocation vehicle transport has two customers. The company paying for it wants predictable cost and clean paperwork. The employee living through it wants their car to arrive when they were told it would.

  • Consolidated billing
  • One coordinator
  • Single or group moves
  • Nationwide coverage

Why relocation moves need different handling

An employee relocation is not a normal transport booking. The dates are tied to a start date that will not move, the employee is usually flying rather than driving, and there is often a gap between leaving the old address and gaining access to the new one.

That gap is what causes most of the problems. A car that arrives before the employee does needs somewhere to sit. A car that arrives a week after they start work leaves them without transport in a city they do not know yet.

We plan relocation moves backwards from the employee's start date rather than forwards from the collection request, and we keep both the HR contact and the employee informed rather than only the person who booked it.

What relocation accounts include

Built around the two things that actually go wrong: timing and communication.

  • 01

    Consolidated invoicing

Billed to the company on agreed terms rather than leaving employees to claim expenses back afterwards.

  • 02

    One point of contact

The same coordinator handles HR and the employee, so nobody is repeating the same details twice.

  • 03

    Start-date planning

We schedule backwards from the day they need the car, not forwards from the day you called us.

  • 04

    Employee updates direct

The employee gets the driver's details and progress updates without going through your mobility team.

  • 05

    Group moves

Several employees relocating on the same corridor can share trailers, which cuts cost and simplifies scheduling.

  • 06

    Flexible delivery points

Delivery to a temporary address, a corporate housing block or the office if the new home is not ready.

How a relocation move is scheduled

Working backwards from the date that actually matters.

  1. 1

    Confirm the start date

Tell us when the employee needs the vehicle, and whether there is a gap between addresses.

  2. 2

    Build the timeline

We schedule collection so delivery lands in the right window, with buffer for weather and traffic.

  3. 3

    Collection

From the employee's current address, at a time that fits around their own travel arrangements.

  4. 4

    Delivery and confirmation

Delivered to the agreed address, with confirmation sent to both the employee and your mobility contact.

Handling the gap between addresses

The most common relocation problem is not transport at all. It is that the employee flies out on Monday, starts work on Tuesday, and does not get keys to the new house until the following week.

There are three workable answers. Deliver to corporate housing or the temporary address if it can take a vehicle. Deliver to the office, which usually has the access a residential street lacks. Or delay collection so the vehicle arrives after they have somewhere to put it, which works if they can manage without a car for the first few days.

What does not work is booking collection immediately and hoping the timing resolves itself. Tell us about the gap at the start and we will build the schedule around it.

Relocating a team?

Send the corridor and the number of employees. Several vehicles on the same route can often share trailers and reduce the cost per move.

What relocation transport costs depend on

Volume and timing flexibility do most of the work.

  • 1

Route and distanceEstablished corporate corridors between major metros price better than moves to remote locations.

  • 2

Number of employeesMultiple vehicles on the same corridor share trailer space and reduce cost per move.

  • 3

Date flexibilityA collection window prices better than a fixed date, even by a couple of days.

  • 4

SeasonSummer is peak relocation season across the whole industry and capacity tightens noticeably.

  • 5

Vehicle typeStandard vehicles are routine. Executive or high-value cars may warrant enclosed transport instead.

Rates for ongoing relocation programmes are agreed in writing and hold for the agreed period, so your mobility budget is set against a known figure.

Corporate relocation questions

Can you bill the company rather than the employee?

Yes. Consolidated invoicing to the company on agreed terms is standard on relocation accounts, so employees are not paying upfront and reclaiming it as an expense.

What if the employee's new home is not ready?

We plan around it. Options include delivering to corporate housing, delivering to the office, or delaying collection so the vehicle arrives once they have somewhere to keep it. Tell us about the gap early.

Can you move several employees' vehicles together?

Yes, when they are on the same corridor within a reasonable window. Sharing trailer space reduces the cost per move and gives your mobility team one schedule instead of several.

Who does the driver contact, us or the employee?

The employee, for pickup and delivery arrangements, since they are the one with the keys and the address. Your mobility contact receives status confirmations without having to relay messages.

How far ahead should relocation transport be booked?

Two to three weeks where possible, and earlier during the summer peak. Booking against a confirmed start date rather than a provisional one avoids rescheduling later.

Do you handle executive or high-value vehicles?

Yes. Where the vehicle warrants it we recommend enclosed transport and quote it separately, so your mobility policy can decide whether to approve the difference.

Relocating employees?

Send the corridor, the number of vehicles and the start dates. We will build a schedule and consolidated pricing around them.
